The Chromatic Interpretation of Heavy Metal Plus

This is an extension of my original ganondox.deviantart.com/art/Th… which is somehow my most commented on deviation. This time I went about it the other way around, starting with the genres and then assigning a color. It also includes several non-metal but related rock genres. The key thing about this is I generated the colors somewhat systematically, the reasoning behind it is found here: docs.google.com/document/d/1NA… I wasn't originally planning on translating it to colors, I just decided to so in the end, and it worked surprisingly well. Death metal and related genres ended up being magenta though, which was kinda of hilarious. I was debating about whether to include techdeath or folk metal, but in the end I decided folk metal was more important (despite not fitting under this system at all) and techdeath just looked too much like regular death after I settled on a value for it. I spent about a year working on this piece.
